CanLit Guides is an open access and flexible learning resource that helps students critically engage with Canadian literature while encouraging and promoting independent study. CanLit Guides provides first- and second-year university students with information, resources, and exercises addressing literary theory, Canadian literary history, and works of Canadian fiction, non-fiction, and drama.
CanLit Guides has three primary uses: it can be used as an independent-study tool for students; it can be used as a supplement to a university class; and it can be used as a resource for “flipping” the classroom (King 1993; Norvig 2012; Sweet and Michaelson 2012).
An editorial team of subject-matter experts and award-winning educators produces CanLit Guides. The chapters on CanLit Guides are peer-reviewed, edited, and periodically updated.
